Part 8 of my *Weird Things You Can Do in Magic: The Gathering* series is Fight
Club, where the first rule is that everything in my graveyard is about to fight.

## Building the fighter

I start with **Essence of the Wild**, which makes my creatures enter as copies
of it, then improve on it step by step:

- **Humble** strips its abilities.
- **Mythos of Illuna** makes a token copy that also fights a creature when it
  enters.
- **Nethroi, Apex of Death** mutates onto that token, granting deathtouch and
  lifelink and returning creatures with total power 10 or less from the
  graveyard.

## The payoff

Every creature Nethroi returns enters as a copy of that mutated token, so each
one enters fighting, with deathtouch and lifelink. A whole graveyard of
powerless creatures comes back swinging at once. And the eighth and final rule
of Fight Club: if this is your first night, you have to fight. If you have a
